You Scratch My Back… Pt. II

Two days ago, I reported about Inspector General Gerald Walpin being fired by Barack Obama and how this situation smacks of croneyism.  You can read that story here.

Well, the Obama White House has now resorted to full-on Chicago-style politics.  Not that it’s much of a surprise, mind you. Anyway, immediately after Walpin went public with his side of the story, the Obama administration began slandering Walpin, saying he was so “confused” and “disoriented” as to call into question his ability to serve. Other charges are outlined in this Fox News story.

This all just seems rather odd that this comes out now that Walpin made his story public. This firing is illegal per a bill that requires 30-day notice when firing an inspector general. This law also requires that Congress be given specific reasons for the firing. It should be noted that Obama co-sponsored and also voted for the bill during his term as Senator.

The “confused” and “disoriented” claims now seem to be a desperate attempt to unfairly paint this man as somehow feeble-minded and incapable of performing the duties he was appointed to. I caught his interview on Glenn Beck’s television show and he was extremely well-spoken and intelligent.

Keep your eye on this one…I have the feeling that there’s more on the way.

  1. Just found out that the meeting the Obama administration claims that Walpin was “confused” and “disoriented” at, preceded their invitation to him to give a speech towards the end of May. Why would the White House ask a man to do this and then later claim that he was “disoriented” and “confused”??? This man is being railroaded.
