Warning! Dangerous Content Ahead!

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12

The writer of the New Testament book of Hebrews portrays God’s Word as a dangerous, powerful weapon. Apparently, the bomb squad in Leavenworth, Kan., believes the same thing of the ancient book.

On Friday, June 12, an unnamed person apparently left the Leavenworth post office in a hurry, leaving their package on the counter without enough postage to mail the suspicious-looking item. The bomb squad was called in and used a disruptor gun to blast the package. As it turns out, the only contents of the package was a dangerous Bible.

The woman to whom the package was to be sent said that she had been expecting something from a relative who had been acting a bit strange. She said she had no idea what it was.

I haven’t been able to conclusively determine what translation this Bible was but I do know that the King James Version has been known to produce tongue cramps and headaches due to the difficult-to-pronounce and archaic language. The bomb squad probably just wanted to prevent these kinds of unnecessary injuries.
