I Wish Microsoft Products Worked This Way

panic

Everyone knows the economy isn’t doing well right now.  The unemployment rate is at its highest since the 70s, companies are going in the tank, and people are genuinely feeling stressed about their jobs if they are so lucky as to still be employed.

At least some companies like Microsoft give their employees a severance package when they have to lay them off.  However, Microsoft apparently made a small mistake in some of the severance pay they gave employees.  Here’s the text of a letter that they sent to some ex-employees:

This letter is to inform you that an inadvertent administrative error occurred that resulted in an overpayment in severance pay by Microsoft,” reads a letter sent to an unnamed employee and posted on the TechCrunch blog. “We ask that you repay the overpayment and sincerely apologize for any overpayment to you.

Considering how some Microsoft products function, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few former employees fail to return the money because of a virus, blue screen of death, or some other unrecoverable program error.  You know, because that’s just the way they roll.
